Fermentation and Harvesting for a Multi- Purpose Plant - (BPM SS) | 2004

We signed a contract for the design, construction, and startup of a microbial fermentation plant for Lonza at their Visp production facility.
A 1000 L fermenter, which was installed in an existing building along with the primary harvesting system for the product, forms the heart of the plant, which is designed to handle all kinds of pharmaceutical products. The downstream protein purification takes place in a newly erected building. Along with the process equipment, Vogelbusch installed a new pure media supply system. After successful qualification and validation, commercial production started in mid-September of 2004.
