Chromatography

Chromatography systems are among the most complex functional units of modern biotechnology plants. Vogelbusch Biopharma chromatography skids offer mobile and flexible solutions for all types of chromatography processes.

The typical features of chromatography skids are:

  • Inline dilution of buffers or products and two independent pumps for gradient mixing.
  • Typically as many as 10 process inlet connections and 5 outlet connections
  • Sampling points before and after the chromatography column connections
  • Mass flow control of the flow rates by flow meters after each pump
  • Double tube heat exchangers provide constant temperature control of the product stream to the chromatography column
  • Bubble traps and air sensors prevent air from getting into the chromatography column
  • Optional inline filtration for microbial count reduction
  • Pressure, temperature, conductivity, pH, UV, and flow rate are recorded to and from the chromatography column.
  • Elution can be controlled by pH, UV, conductivity, volume, or time.
  • Optional pressure regulators for low pressure driven chromatography columns
  • Compatible with all standard process control systems

Applications

Most biopharmaceutical processes today use at least one chromatography system in their downstream processing. Thanks to the process-specific design of each unit, Vogelbusch Biopharma Chromatography Skids are used in all kinds of processes around the world. Some of the main applications are the production of dietary supplements, vaccines, and medicinal products.
